How we give

Patient capital, engaged partnership

Multi-year, flexible funding and a relationship that continues beyond the grant agreement.

Funding approach

Core support and flexible funding

The Fund prioritises core support and flexible funding, recognising that organisations are often best placed to direct resources where they are most needed. Project-based support may also be considered in certain circumstances, for example for pilots, specific research, or other clearly defined initiatives.

Partnerships

Multi-year partnerships

The Fund aims to make multi-year commitments, generally for three years, to help partners plan ahead and work towards meaningful outcomes beyond a single annual grant cycle.

Who we support

Proven results, with room for the new

The majority of commitments support organisations with a track record of demonstrated results. A minority of giving is reserved for innovative efforts with compelling catalytic potential, such as pilots, emerging models, and early-stage interventions.

Due diligence

A structured, considered process

Before making a commitment, the Fund undertakes a structured due diligence process. This typically includes a review of the organisation's strategy, results and evidence, leadership, and legal and financial compliance. Grant agreements are formally prepared and reviewed, and eligibility is confirmed before any funding is finalised.

Impact

Measuring what matters

The Fund works with its partners to agree on meaningful outcomes and appropriate ways of measuring impact. It generally requests annual reporting, aligned where possible with the partner's own reporting cycles and existing reporting for other funders.

Learning

Learning and reflection

The Fund is in its early granting cycles and learning rapidly. Our partner organisations are our most important teachers. We approach the work with intellectual humility, building feedback loops into our engagements with partners.
